Museums
Bolzano offers a couple of very famous museums: the Ötzimuseum with the "Iceman", the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Modern Art (Museion). All these museums you‘ll find in downtown, whereas the MMM-Messner Mountain Museum you‘ll reach in less than 2 km from our hotel.
Arcades of Bolzano
The Arcades of Bolzano offer a great variety of traditional shops and elegant boutiques representing the finest of Italian fashion. The Arcades of Bolzano are also known as the most significant shopping area of the whole region.
Walther Square
Walther Square, named after Walther von der Vogelweide, one of the greatest German poets of the Middle Ages. In the center of the square stands the Walther monument in neo Romanesque style made in white marble from Laas.
Fruit Market
In the middle of the town, at the end of the Arcades, you‘ll see what is called the most colourful and lively public fruit- and vegetable market of northern Italy – an authentic touristic highlight! Open daily, except on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
Cathedral
On the south-west side of Walther square stands the mighty Gothic structure of the cathedral (Duomo). The original Duomo dates back to 1295. The 65 m high bell tower with ist towering standstone open-work and the rocky „Rose garden“ of the Dolomites in the background, form Bolzano‘s most popular photography subject.
